My favorite mixes drink is one I created called the "Green Goblin" Ginger Jagermeister with undiluted absinthe in equal amounts over ice. I really like black licorice so to me it was great, but I don't recommend it if you don't have a high alcohol tolerance.

I can never understand how people like alcohol. Beer, whiskey, vodka, wine all taste horrible to me. when I'm served a glass at a party, i can only stick to one glass for the whole night cause i hate the taste and everyone's like why is your glass still half full after 2 hours

yeah, watching the whole clip, not a good introduction to drinking. but i guess she also doesnt have anyone around her (i.e. family) where it could be learned from. my first time(s) drinking alcohol was sips of my parents sparkling wine on new years, until i worked my way up to get half a glass and then a full glass myself. then at 14 years we have a coming-of-age tradition here, thats celebrated with family and relatives and kids often "properly" drink the first time then. i think i downed an entire carafe of sweet ouzo over the course of the evening and it was the first time i was actually drunk. unfortunately kaela didnt have a controlled environment for her first experience and now it scared her off ever trying again. bit of a shame, since she says herself shes probably a fun drunk, but im not gonna fault people for not drinking. she also should've told the outdonesian friend she doesnt drink, because a responsible person will watch out for and "protect" the non-drinkers. drink responsibly, kids. also preferably dont drink on an empty stomach, unless you only got one beer and want to get buzzed.

I think the effect on her stomach was more caused by the combination of RedBull and alcohol than the alcohol itself. Such high amounts of caffeine are mostly the cause for an upset tummy and an explosive number two. The alcohol itself would more likely upset her stomach and make her barf. Anyway, I'm happy that she has more confidence now and wouldn#t let peer pressure make her stuff she doesn't want to. Alcohol is poison after all.

If you experience drinking for the first time, you should be experiencing a buzz that puts on you on cloud 9 and in pure bliss. From what I'm seeing here, it sounds like you only got halfway there.

Ah yes, Jaegerbombs. Friends and I used to walk around with a red bull and jaeger bottle pouring a bit of each into the mouth (had no glasses). The thing is, there is a very narrow window when the two mix that it tastes like licorice candy. If you wait too long it tastes kinda bad. Would you die from one jaegerbomb? Only if you had health problems before that, cause you are drinking a mix of energy drink and booze. Though to be honest, Jaegermeister is about a 25% alcohol which is stronger than wine but not as strong as something like vodka at 40%. The half a can of red bull would mess me up more than the shot of jaeger tbh. Jaegermeister is based on cough medicine or something after all, so its not bad. xD

Aw, geeze, a jaegerbomber?! No wonder... the one time I ever had a hard alcohol (I've had wine before because weddings and such) was a rum-and-Coke, and I gagged on it because it was really bitter but also really sweet, and the flavors were mixing so weirdly that I honestly couldn't finish it. I can't even imagine having this sort of drink, ESPECIALLY for my first time. That said, it's definitely better for her to stay away from it to begin with; no sense in "playing with fire," as the saying goes.

Usually not a good idea for a first time drinker...and definitely does not need that to stay awake considering only gets like 2-4 hours of sleep a day.

As a parent, you should show your kids what alcoholic drinks are so they don’t end up with experiences like this

Shots for a first timer is a first timer mistake, so a jaegerbomb is like a bombshell going off for them. Anytime i've seen them come out on a night - its bad news. i think after the friend who bought it found out she hadn't drank one of them before even, should have maybe taken it herself and ordered kaela something more 'safer', well, as safe as you can get with the number 1 'most harmful drug' in graphs and statistics (ref: TheLancet 'Most Harmful Drugs' Graph, 2023) mixed with one the most addicted one all over the world that blasts your heart rate (caffeine/red bull/coffee/tea etc) so maybe a glass of wine or a beer or cider would have been better. Seen so many nights start with shots and end early with a lot of drunken sickness, thats why us UK and europeans are introduced to it early on in age, so we know our limits and get taught 'this 1 drug's education' basically. i had my first cider at 12 in france, at 15 i got drunk first time, would only drink every so often. And this is why in the US - a lot of kids - you leave home for uni/college, first time away from parents = your gonna be doing shots at a party at some point, all depending IF your friend looks over 21y/o to get the booze, illegally. so the lack of introduction to it from a younger age and getting any education on it, whilst you've never learnt your own limits etc = kids going shot for shot like it's a sport to get black out drunk and some even to the hospital to get their stomachs pumped. so that kinda drinking really didn't appeal to me and never understood it and i was a raver in my later years. and then i found the leaf and stopped drinking as little as i did even, and haven't been sick or had a hangover in years, infact the opposite - i feel better ironically, (with it being banned and alcohol being the worst of the worst yet legal and promoted but i dislike it heavily) and i don't get a hangover, puke, make an idiot of myself etc (yanno, drunk people shizz) i just sit down, with my fella, watch some movie or series or games and fall asleep after a bit and wake up fresh as a daisy.

One of my former friend tried to force me to drink, and I simply don't like the taste of alcohol at all. He tried to force me to drink and talk about how I'm ruining the night. Suffice to say fudge that guy, we're not friends anymore. 😂

The friend of a friend that bought the shots for the table was trying to be nice, but really just get an appetizer for the table or something like that. For those that don't and are curious though, its the drinks that don't taste like alcohol that you need to watch out for - those are the ones that will sink your battleship in no time. My rule is 2 drinks then just water afterwards because I'm usually the DD. It's funny that Kaela thought it was crazy that people could drink more than one shot, I've had 24 beers in an evening once (I had the next day off and drank lots of water too). My roommate was even worse, 48 beers and untold amounts of screwdrivers and assorted drinks over the course of a whole day.

Alcoholic drinks are not sold generally in Indonesia, usually only sold in bars or hotels. Supermarkets or convenience stores are no longer permitted. So it's natural that Kaela never drinks it. There are more fruit juices sold in Indonesia. Everyone likes fruit juice.

The first time I see someone drunk was in my mom friend house give alcohol to some of his acquaintance and what happen after that was his face was so red even he already drunk he still want to drink the alcohol that what happen when the body tolerate the alcohol

As someone who drinks regularly... what a terrible first experience. I thought it was just going to be a fancy liquor (which is also a bad idea to start), but no... a Jägerbomb. Gross. Also, for you people who haven't tried alcohol (but might), make sure you start on your terms (ideally, with a person you trust who already drinks), and absolutely stand your ground if you're hesitant. If you don't drink, imo you should be twice as firm. Alcohol is no joke if you don't know your tolerances, it's literally poison.

i haven't tried that many drinks but alcohol is disgusting on its own, no matter the procedence. Even sweet or sour drinks makes it barely bearable, so at that point remove the alcohol and just drink sweet or sour stuff alone. I don't recommend alcohol to anyone, because i swear everyone is pretending they like it but only like it because hehe tipsy feeling lol, but absolutely not for taste alone. Maybe wine and beer... maybe, and that's a stretch. Being disgusted by it like Kaela is the normal response tbh Source: Blasted my highschool years with vodka, whiskey, beer, wine and some others. The regret of the ocassional hangovrer and dry mouth greatly outscales the funny feeling of being drunk.

This is a naive person thing. Cause all this is common culture in all over Asia. Asia would have a bigger and stricter drinking culture than US. So weird story

Kaela now needs to discover her alcohol drink tasting, she'll eventually find one. Remember alcohol drinking doesn't necessairly need to be bitter, try the many diverse cocktails.

1st time I drank was an entire bottle of some random wine, I felt nothing different, but when I went to the bathroom, I thought waw I have 2 second LAG for my body to move.

Alcohol is an acquired taste, it really tastes bad the first few times. But I think the first experience also depends a lot on the environment, I remember my first experience was during a party when I was in high school, and although I can say that I had fun, I'm not going to lie, the truth is that I was drinking too cautiously. But the first time I actually threw up for drinking too much was during a sleepover with my friends while we were watching the LOL Worlds, we were at my house and I knew it was a safe environment so I let myself go a little more, and is a night that I remember was much more fun than a party. So if Kaela drank something not so "strong" and in an environment where she feels safe, just playing and talking with friends, I'm sure she would have enjoyed it more.
